Guys can change their mind too, can’t they?
I’ve decided not to take this site down after all. Why did I change my mind? I’ll let you see if you can figure that one out.
The main thing is I’m feeling great. I’m confident that my days of dealing with cancer are behind me and if I do have to deal with it again in the future, it will be years down the road. Right now I’m concentrating on working with my students, spending time with my lovely wife and trying to decide what project to take on next. Katie has gone back to living on campus so once again it is just Tami and I in the house.
For those of you that know me personally, you’ll know that I have to have something to work on constantly. Relaxing is a skill I just haven’t been able to master. Lately I’ve had a desire to take the two careers that I have thoroughly enjoyed and meld them together. I love teaching but I find myself more and more missing the technology side of things. That’s one of the main reasons I recently completed my masters degree in technology integration. Now, what to do with it?
I’m seriously considering beginning my PhD degree this summer. The University of Nebraska ( along with many other traditional universities ) has a program that is almost completely online. It’s very ironic but the same guy that couldn’t stand school growing up, including the academic side of college, now isn’t happy unless I’m learning something new…..and I don’t mean just reading an article here or there.
Well, enough for now. I hope at least a few of you have stuck with your resolutions. So far, we are doing great on ours.
